Amrit graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Kinetics (Major: Exercise Science) in 2006. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA in 2011. During her physiotherapy education, Amrit completed a year-long residency in an orthopedic/sports private practice clinic in Seattle, WA, where she gained extensive experience treating patients of all ages and abilities.

Amrit enjoys treating her patient’s conditions with hands-on manual therapy techniques, IMS/functional dry needling, exercise and taping, all with an emphasis on functional rehabilitation. Amrit is certified in functional dry needling and continues to pursue higher-level education in orthopedic manual and manipulative therapy through the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy. Amrit is also beginning to pursue education in Visceral Manipulation through the Barral Institute.

Prior to becoming a physiotherapist, Amrit was working as a Kinesiologist in private gym and community centre settings and was also a Cardiac Rehabilitation Exercise Specialist in the outpatient program at Lion’s Gate Hospital. During Amrit’s undergraduate degree, she played for the UBC Junior Varsity Volleyball Team and her enthusiasm for sports has encouraged her to continue to lead a very active lifestyle. Amrit enjoys running, hiking and yoga, and she has experience playing many sports including basketball, volleyball and softball.
